Course Description: This course is designed for those who have little to no experience using laptops computers. It will provide an introduction to basic computer concepts including hardware, software, and operating systems. Students will learn how to use a computer for basic tasks such as emailing, browsing the internet, and creating documents.
The course will cover topics such as:
Introduction to computer hardware and software
Overview of operating systems
Basic computer skills, including using a mouse and keyboard
Creating, saving, and printing documents
Browsing the internet and using search engines
Emailing and attaching files
U+Basic computer security and privacy
Throughout the course, students will have hands-on practice with computers and receive individualized attention from the instructor. They will also have the opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback.
Upon completing this course, students will have a basic understanding of computers and be able to perform simple tasks on a computer. This knowledge will empower them to communicate with family and friends, access online resources, and stay connected with the world in a meaningful way.
