From Native American oral traditions to the Harlem renaissance, spoken word poetry and storytelling has helped fuel the minds of humans since the beginning. This class will continue this centuries-old tradition by studying the art of performance, spoken-word and slam poetry. Students will learn about the artform, write their own poems, and practice them in a judgment free environment. For a grand finale, we’ll have a performance for all students to share their work!
