In this interactive PETS course, participants discuss the benefits and challenges of active learning and consider some of the details of planning these types of activities for their classes. Participants and the facilitator share successful and not-so-successful techniques for effective active learning. Low-tech and high-tech active learning strategies will be discussed as well as important considerations for accessibility.

Course opens in Canvas on Monday, January 26, 2026 for asynchronous work.

Participants meet via Zoom on Friday, February 6, 2026 to share projects and debrief.

Participation in both the asychronous activities and the Zoom session are required for completion of the course.

A Zoom link will be sent to registered participants in advance of the session.

PETS stipend: $100 for full and part-time instructors upon completion of course and related activities.
