Education is one of the most vital components to navigating a loved one’s journey with dementia. The health system that is in place currently does not provide the level of education and resources it takes to care of our aging affected with this disease. Rosie Gneym-Hudson, Occupational Therapist and Certified Dementia Trainer, will elaborate on the do’s and don’ts of approaching and caring for those suffering from dementia and the various sub-categories that it entails. She will also discuss how memory diseases such as this impacts how individuals process routine care activities done by their caregivers or staff. Understanding our care role through this disease process and how to promote overall quality of life with our loved ones is a good start to navigating this degenerative disease that can last up to years.
