Event and Wedding Planning Noncredit Certificate (Core Class)
Regardless of an event’s size or budget, financial goals rank high in importance for meeting stakeholders. This course looks at the financial management process ranging from developing a budget to analyzing return on investment. We will discuss the factors involved in successful financial management for event and wedding planners. Topics include aspects of budget categories and revenue streams. Students will gain a practical understanding of the budgeting process by tracking revenue and expenses while generating event reports. This course is ideal beginners interested in learning more event management and also for event and wedding planners who want to enhance their continuing education.

EVENT AND WEDDING PLANNING NONCREDIT CERTIFICATE
Take Event and Wedding Planning: Entrepreneurship and Management, Event Design and Floral Artistry, Event Budgeting and Financial Management, Negotiating Event Contracts and Agreements and two elective courses and receive a noncredit Event and Wedding Planning Certificate from MCC. This program guides students through core classes to kickstart or enhance their event planning career. Vernetta Kosalka is an award-winning hospitality professional specializing in event planning, event design and hospitality management education in Omaha, NE. Kosalka graduated from College of Saint Mary in 2003 with a dual degree in Business Administration and CIM and later received her Master's in Organizational Leadership in 2007. With over thirteen years of experience, she has garnered respect from her peers and continues to give back to the Omaha community through volunteering on the Omaha Police Officers Ball Committee benefitting Special Olympics Nebraska, being an Advisory Board Member of the Ralston Area Chamber of Commerce and serving as the Special Events Committee Chair.
