Wedding and special event trends for 2020 and 2021 will be uncovered in this course. Get ahead of these bold changes and couples will trust your ideas, fresh perspectives and savvy wedding expertise. Understand regional trends in designing events and the benefits of planning eco-friendly or green events. Learn how to create cost-effective design concepts and add value when working with an external design vendor.

EVENT AND WEDDING PLANNING NONCREDIT CERTIFICATE
Take Event and Wedding Planning: Entrepreneurship and Management, Event Design and Floral Artistry, Event Budgeting and Financial Management, Negotiating Event Contracts and Agreements and two elective courses and receive a noncredit Event and Wedding Planning Certificate from MCC. This program guides students through core classes to kickstart or enhance their event planning career. Vernetta Kosalka is an award-winning hospitality professional specializing in event planning, event design and hospitality management education in Omaha, NE. Kosalka graduated from College of Saint Mary in 2003 with a dual degree in Business Administration and CIM and later received her Master's in Organizational Leadership in 2007. With over thirteen years of experience, she has garnered respect from her peers and continues to give back to the Omaha community through volunteering on the Omaha Police Officers Ball Committee benefitting Special Olympics Nebraska, being an Advisory Board Member of the Ralston Area Chamber of Commerce and serving as the Special Events Committee Chair.
