This 5-hour course is for drone enthusiasts, hobbyists, and those seeking to continue onto the FAA Drone Pilot Certification training. Participants learn best practices to successfully fly a drone, including basic rules and regulations, and prepares participants to pass the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) certificate. Topics include the main parts of an aerial vehicle, including the body, platform and power supply, computing, actuators, sensors, and software. This course is a prerequisite for all other MCC Drone Flight School courses.
The FAA requires all recreational flyers to pass The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) certificate to operate a drone for fun or personal enjoyment purposes, and must provide proof of test passage to the FAA or law enforcement upon request.
