Food for Life: The Power of Food to Kickstart Your Health

Change you food, change your life! In this fun 5-week nutrition course, you will learn how choosing plant-based foods --fruits, vegetables, beans, whole grains, nuts and seeds-- incredibly promote heath, prevent, reverse and lower risk for disease, provide more energy, and help maintain a healthy weight. Discover the relationship between diet and diseases like obesity, diabetes and heart disease.

The first week is spent planning your kick-start, and then you can "test-drive" new food habits with lots of guidance. Enjoy live food demonstrations and sample delicious, healthy dishes in a supportive group setting. Curriculum is based on the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine's successful, evidence-based Food for Life program, which empowers you to take more control of your health by the choices you make in the grocery store, and what goes on your plate. No need to eat pre-packaged meals or count calories, no feeling deprived, no wondering where your protein comes from when we learn how to eat nutritionally dense foods. Come learn why Hippocrates said, "Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food". Please bring $10 supply fee to each class.
