What does Separation of Church and State really mean? Should religious people be allowed to serve in government positions? Should they legislate (or judge) based on their personal biases? Should the government fund religious schools as well as public? Suggested reading prior to course: The Mythical "Wall of Separation": How a Misused Metaphor Changed Church–State Law, Policy, and Discourse by Daniel Dreisbach and Yes There Is a Constitutional Separation of Church and State by Dale Hansen.

Notes:

Students will utilize the Zoom conferencing application to complete this course. Zoom meeting invitations will be sent via email at least one day prior to the class start date. Students must provide a valid email address to receive the meeting invitation to enter the Zoom virtual classroom.
