The health and psycho-physiological aspects of stress will be the focus of this course. Selected techniques for self-regulating stress will be demonstrated, practiced, and analyzed. Through participating in this course the student will be able to: A. Understand the nature of stress and appreciate its role in the health of individuals and society as a whole. B. Identify various self-management strategies for modifying the stress response and understand the rationale for each. C. Practice various stress management skills and be aware of the wide range of techniques for managing stress.
