If you live in an older home or if your business is located in an older building, the chances are that you have cracks in the basement or outside walls. You can learn the correct way to replace the bricks or concrete blocks and get rid of the cracks. Join MCC Masonry instructor, Bill Larsen, in the masonry lab. This is a hands-on class, so wear your work clothes. Start with basic hand movements for the trowel and how to properly mix mortar to get the right consistency for your project. Class discussion will cover instruction on applying your new skill to projects such as tuck pointing (grinding out and replacing the crumbling mortar in a brick wall), building a street mailbox or replacing the stone on a fireplace. If you have started a project, feel free to bring a picture and get your questions answered by a professional. Tools will be provided. (one session)
