Understand paint chemistry and the differences between finishes, primers and brands of paint—not all brands are equal. Discover proven methods of removing old paint and preparing moldy, chalky and water-stained surfaces to receive the primer and paint. Explore types of stains, varnishes, lacquers, shellac, tung oils and practice how to apply them. Create your own hand-rubbed finish. Wear your work clothes if you want to give it a try. (one session)
