Weaving 101

The class is designed for the beginning loom weaver. Explore historical weaving origins and styles. Learn all the parts and functions of the loom. Discover weaving terminology, reading, following and designing pattern drafts. Experience dressing a loom, weaving styles and finishing techniques. Projects will include a sampler wall hanging/table runner and an additional project(s) if time permits, all designed by you, the student. Bring yarn needles, scissors, a notebook, pencils and tape measure to class. FTP: warp and weft for second project will be discussed in class. The instructor is Connie Wheeler. (five weeks)
