Start Your Own Farm

Dates: March 15 - April 5, 2019

Meets: F from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM

Location: MCC at Do Space 214

Registration Fee: $99.00

Have you been nurturing an idea for a farm of your own? Now is the time to explore those dreams of raising chickens, owning a herd of goats, making cheese or growing vegetables. New farmers can explore the possibilities and realities of owning or expanding an agricultural business. Develop goals for yourself and your businesses, become more familiar with financing options, identify and evaluate available resources, examine marketing strategies, and explore agencies and organizations that provide support and assistance to farmers. You do not need to have land or know what you will grow, just that you want to explore the possibilities and learn about the steps you need to take to begin farming. Bring your laptop, tablet and/or smartphone. If you don't have one, we'll provide a laptop during class. A class syllabus will delivered via email at the beginning of each class meeting. Be prepared to take notes. Last class will be held on the farm.
