In this overview of American military history, award-winning historian Don Hickey examines the nation's 12 wars from the American Revolution to the War in Vietnam. For each war, he offers a brief summary of U.S. war aims and war plans, whether there was any domestic opposition, and what the outcome and legacy of each contest was. Hickey is an engaging public speaker who encourages his audience to challenge him so he can learn from them as much as they learn from him.
