"The 4-Day Teen Zine Workshop invites creative teens ages 12–17 to explore the art, history, and culture of independent publishing. Zines—self-made, small-circulation publications—have long been a tool for storytelling, creative expression, and activism, from underground punk fanzines of the 1970s to contemporary artist and social-justice zines. Campers will study influential zines and their creators while learning practical techniques in illustration, collage, photography, writing, typography, and layout design. Guided by experienced instructors, participants will plan, design, and produce their own original mini zines, exploring how to communicate ideas visually and textually. Throughout the week, teens will gain insight into the DIY publishing culture, including methods of printing, assembling, and sharing their work. By the end of camp, each participant will leave with a finished zine, a deeper understanding of zine history, and the tools and confidence to continue making and sharing their own independent publications."
