Learn to fool the fish! Explore gear, lures, and fish-handling tips, as well as learning some of Omaha's hot spots, in this hands-on course. Novice anglers will gain the skills to find and land a variety of local fish species. We’ll cover best practices for tackle and lures, and dive into where to locate freshwater favorites like bass, bluegill, catfish and crappie. Omaha’s beautiful parks feature lagoons stocked by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission—perfect learning grounds for new anglers. You’ll discover how understanding a fish’s species, habitat, and feeding habits can dramatically improve your success rate. We’ll also discuss the age-old question of when to fish (hint: whenever you can!). A textbook will be provided for reference, and the course will conclude with a fun fishing field trip to put your new skills to the test (weather permitting).
