Dot painting has been part of the Australian Aborigine culture for centuries where it is used for creating colorful rocks with intricate designs originally spiritual in nature. It was not until the 1970's through working with a European art teacher that the form started to morph into the style we find so popular today. In this class you will learn to use a compass and a protractor on a black piece of heavyweight cardstock to create your design template. You will then practice filling in the design with various sizes of dots of acrylic paint. Bring a $15 supply fee.
